Accident Shuts Down Albemarle Road In Both Directions Monday Morning

An accident on a Charlotte artery took down power lines and will shut down traffic for most of the day, CMPD said.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- An accident overnight took down power lines along a busy Charlotte artery, shutting down traffic in both directions during the morning commute, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said Monday morning.

The accident occurred in the 6700 block of Albemarle Road, CMPD said, advising area drivers seek an alternate route around the area. The closure is expected to last all day until repairs are completed this afternoon, CMPD said.
