Charlotte Weather Forecast: Snow Increasingly Likely This Weekend

The National Weather Service says we could see our first snow of the season.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- The Queen City metro region could see its first snowfall of the season Friday as a cooler temperatures move into the area, according to a National Weather Service forecast.

A chance of rain is in the forecast every day this week, with highs topping out around 50 on Thursday.

While the National Weather Service says there’s a 40 percent chance of snow Friday night, there’s likely no need to dig out the snow shovel. It will likely be mixed in with rain late Friday night. While the low Friday night is expected to dip to around 30 degrees, the mercury will rise to about 46 degrees on Saturday.

A 40 percent chance of rain, mainly after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 54. North wind 5 to 8 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

A 30 percent chance of rain, mainly before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 39. Light and variable wind. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Thursday (Dec. 7)
A 20 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50. Light west southwest wind.
Thursday Night
A 40 percent chance of rain. Cloudy, with a low around 37. Light and variable wind. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Friday (Dec. 8)
A 50 percent chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 42. Light and variable wind.
Friday Night
A chance of rain before midnight, then a chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Saturday (Dec. 9)
Mostly sunny, with a high near 46.

Mostly clear, with a low around 26.
