Charlotte Christmas Eve Forecast: Warm, Rainy Week Ahead
Monday and Tuesday will be warmer than usual before rains moves into the region.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- You can pack away the ugly sweaters because there won’t be a need for them this holiday. Christmas is a week away, however, you might not believe it by looking at the weather forecast. Temperatures in the Queen City metro region will be unseasonably warm this week for this time of year, reaching the mid 60s by Tuesday.
With the warm temperatures comes rain, which is expected to start up late Tuesday night and stick around through the weekend. The potential for a soggy holiday stretches into Christmas Eve, when there’s a 40 percent chance of rain, and highs in the 60s.

Partly sunny, with a high near 60. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.
Tonight
Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 42. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Tuesday (Dec. 19)
Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 66. Southwest wind 3 to 6 mph.

Showers likely, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Showers. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 57. Light east wind becoming northeast 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
