Victim Identified In Weekend Homicide As Investigation Launched

According to police, Brian Scott Carriker was killed in a home on Tinnin Avenue early Sunday morning. An investigation is underway.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A homicide investigation is underway in central Charlotte after a 56-year-old man was found dead in a home in the 1300 block of Tinnin Avenue early Sunday morning. The victim has been identified as Brian Scott Carriker, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

CMPD officers responded to the home around 1 a.m. Nov. 18 after receiving a call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon. At the home, they found the victim “with obvious trauma,” a police statement said.

CMPD detectives are canvassing the neighborhood for potential witnesses and ask that anyone with information about this incident call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective or call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
