CHARLOTTE, NC -- The week is off to a soggy start in the Charlotte area Monday, with little hope of a reprieve from the steady rain until Wednesday. A flood watch is in effect in the region through the evening of April 24, according to the National Weather Service. Rain should taper off mid week, but likely will return by next weekend.

Daytime highs will reach the 70s and 80s, and overnight lows are expected to be in the 50s and 60s.
