1 Dead After Car Hits Tree, Pole In North Raleigh; Power Goes Out

RALEIGH, NC — One person is dead after a vehicle crashed into a tree and then hit a utility pole at East Millbrook Road and Dantree Place in North Raleigh. Police said they're investigating the one-vehicle wreck that left Jawara Yero Burke, 38, of Raleigh, dead.

Authorities learned of the crash around 5 a.m. Sunday. Power lines were downed and resulted in and a power outage in the area.

Officers were redirecting traffic in the area and drivers were asked to find alternate routes.
