- A bipartisan group of lawmakers in North Carolina are proposing a "Student Borrowers' Bill of Rights." This move targets lending companies with deceptive practices such as giving incorrect or incomplete information. (WCNC)
- North Carolina is expanding the cash card program for vaccinations to 38 counties. This expansion will bring the incentive to Wake County, and is available to anyone who is over the age of 18 who gets a shot or drives someone to get vaccinated. (CBS17)
- The response to President Joe Biden's visit in Raleigh was mixed, drawing supporters as well as protestors. Many waited for hours to get t o see the President share his message of COVID vaccination urgency, and the event went without incident. (CBS17)
- Wake County Sheriff's office is looking to build stronger ties to the community, and held a Youth Day event that allowed summer campers to spend the day with deputies. The Boys and Girls Club campers got to experience some of the tools law enforcement gets to use and learn why they do what they do. (abc11)
- To no one's surprise, Gov. Roy Cooper has vetoed the measure that would ban women from getting abortions on the basis of the potential for undesired race, sex, or medical conditions. Gov. Cooper stated that he believed the bill to be unconstitutional and damaging to doctor-patient relationships. (WXII12)
