Driver Smashes Into Raleigh Police Car, Says He Didn't See Lights
It happened Monday morning on Poole Road, near Bus Way, in Southeast Raleigh.

RALEIGH, NC — A driver smashed into a police patrol vehicle Monday morning in Southeast Raleigh and told a local media outlet he didn't see the cruiser's lights. It happened around 5:30 a.m. on Poole Road, according to reports.
The police car had been parked on the side of the road to give motorists a heads up that water was building up on the roadway, media outlets reported. The driver told WTVD-TV he didn't see the car's lights and didn't have enough time to stop. He slid into the back of the police car.
WNCN-TV reported that the back of the cruiser sustained heavy damage.
