Dump Truck Overturns, Snarls Traffic On Northern Wake Expressway
A photo posted on social media shoed the vehicle lying on its side in the median between the eastbound and westbound lanes.
RALEIGH, NC — An overturned dump truck has slowed traffic to a crawl on Interstate 540 in North Raleigh, also known as the Northern Wake Expressway.
A photo posted online by social media user Chris Faw showed the vehicle lying on its side between the lanes near Falls of Neuese Road.
Northern Wake fire officials posted on Twitter that only one lane on the westbound side remains open. Two lanes on the eastbound side are blocked.

One patient was rushed away from the scene by Wake County emergency responders, fire officials said.
