- This fall's elections will now be held in early 2022. Because of delays in the US Census data, municipalities will need more time to redraw district lines. Governor Roy Cooper had until Saturday to act on the bill, and it will become law by inaction. (WNCT9)
- Roger Floyd reacts to the sentencing of Derick Chauvin, "I think that it does send a message..." The Raleigh resident and uncle of George Floyd is among several people working on opening a George Floyd Memorial Center in Raleigh. (abc11)
- With many players out due to COVID-19 protocol, the NC State baseball team has not taken the lead over Vanderbilt that was expected in the College World Series. Only 13 of the 27 players from the Wolfpack travel roster were cleared to play in the Friday game. (abc11)
- Two individuals were killed, and two were injured in a head on collision on Jones Sausage Road in Raleigh. The investigation into why the collision occurred is still ongoing, but it is believed that alcohol played a role in the tragic event. (Burton Law Firm)
- A Raleigh man has been arrested after an assault that led to gunfire in Myrtle Beach. Donovan Parker of Raleigh was in an altercation, struck a victim in the head with a handgun, and fired the gun during the altercation. (WPDE)
