Here are the top 5 stories in Raleigh today
- An arrest has been made in a June 8 shooting outside a Raleigh hotel. Jarue Malik Alston, 21, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and intent to kill inflicting serious injury and discharging a weapon into occupied property. (CBS17)
- Three inmates at the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women inflicted non life threatening self harm with disposable razors. All three residents lived in the same dorm, but not in close proximity. Two of the women had previously complained about conditions in the facility. (WRAL)
- With Apple on the horizon, the NC Department of Transportation is trying to manage traffic congestion. One method that may become law is the zipper method for merging at the merge point. (abc11)
- A Raleigh woman was taken to the hospital after a man was "demonstrating how to clear the weapon," and fired instead. The bullet went into the woman's shoulder and caused one of her lungs to collapse. (CBS17)
- Tropical Storm Claudette is expected to bring heavy rains to parts of the Triangle on Monday morning. As is typical with hurricanes, the path could quickly change, but North Carolinians can likely anticipate storms from this one. (abc11)
