  1. Today the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services will be announcing the first winner of the Summer Cash Drawing and Summer Cash 4 College Drawing. DHHS has delayed the announcement in order to go through a "lengthy process" to verify winner eligibility. (WRAL)
  2. The North Carolina State Senate has passed their proposed budget for the coming fiscal year. There was some Democratic support, however many people are upset at how small the raises for teachers will be. (WFXR)
  3. Hundreds of fans came out to welcome back NC State's baseball team after they were removed from the College World Series. The team returned after having positive COVID-19 tests that caused a no contest against Vanderbilt on the Saturday game. (WRAL Sports Fan)
  4. North Carolina is falling behind in vaccinations even as the Delta variant is anticipated to come to the state soon if it hasn't already. Less than half of North Carolinians who are eligible for a COVID-19 shot are fully vaccinated. (News13)
  5. Downtown Cary Park is getting an exciting update. The groundbreaking ceremony was on Saturday and the six acre park is the first of its kind in central North Carolina. The park has been in the making for 20+ years. (abc11)
