Raleigh July 4th Fireworks, Parades and More: 2018 Guide

RALEIGH, NC – July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue, stock up on sparklers, and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day. We gathered up all the firework shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Raleigh so you can start planning how you'll celebrate our country’s 242nd birthday.

Here's what's in store this July 4th in Raleigh:

West Raleigh Firework Show

What: Firework Show
Where: PNC Arena
When: July 4, 2018 / 6:30 p.m. gates, 9:30 p.m. launch (Rain date: July 5, 2018)

Seeking a traditional way to celebrate the 4th? Enjoy your July 4th festively with fireworks in West Raleigh, now located at PNC Arena including free parking open to public. This year the fireworks will be in better view, launched from the Varsity Lot at North Carolina State University which is adjacent to the PNC Arena. There are no visual obstructions this year for optimal firework viewing fun!

Barenaked Ladies Concert

What: Barenaked Ladies “Last Summer on Earth 2018” tour ft. Better than Ezra and KT Tunstall

If your prefer Barenaked Ladies jams to firework bursts and pops you’re in luck. Celebrate July 4th at Red Hat Amphitheater with the Barenaked Ladies as they wrap up their “Last Summer on Earth 2018” Tour, featuring guests Better than Ezra and KT Tunstall.

State Capitol Celebration

What: State Capitol July 4 Celebration
Where: 1 E. Edenton Street, Union Square
When: July 4, 2018 / 12:00-4:00 p.m.

You won’t want to miss this North Carolina State Capitol sponsored celebration. Pack a picnic blanket, lawn chairs and enjoy the July 4th festivities. Children’s activities, various musical performances, reenactments, food and ceremonies will take place during this fun filled day.

Keep RLGH Independent 4 Miler

What: Keep RLGH Independent 4 Miler
Where: Dorthea Dix Park
When: July 4, 2018 / 4 miler at 8:00 a.m. or Kid’s Fun Run 7:45 a.m.

If you’re planning on indulging on endless barbecue you might consider this 4 Mile race at Dorthea Dix Park. Get a group together, go solo, or bring the kids for the fun run! Pay $40 to race and come in first, second or third place to win some cash.
