RALEIGH, NC — The first day of school in Raleigh is August 27 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Wake County Public School System has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates, such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

September

  • 9/3: No School (Labor Day)
  • 9/19: No School (Yom Kippur)
  • 9/28: Early Release Day

October

  • 10/19: Early Release Day
  • 10/31: Teacher Work Day

November

  • 11/12: No School (Veterans Day)
  • 11/20: Early Release Day
  • 11/21 - 11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Holiday)

December

  • 12/21: Early Release Day
  • 12/24 - 12/31: No School (Winter Break)
