The Northbound Capital Boulevard Atlantic Avenue exit ramp will be closed to traffic starting Wednesday, Oct. 2 through Thursday, Oct. 3 to repair a damaged storm drainpipe.

NCDOT will be leading the repair work at the Atlantic Avenue exit ramp. The damaged storm drainpipe was discovered during the Blount Street/ Person Street Corridor Project.

- Stay on northbound Capital Boulevard to Fenton Street;
- Left onto Fenton Street;
- Left onto southbound Capital Boulevard;
- Take the Old Louisburg Road exit; and,
- Exit to Atlantic Avenue or Wake Forest Road.

Full Closure of Wake Forest Road between Sycamore and Harding Street Starts Oct. 7
The City of Raleigh will close Wake Forest Road, between Sycamore and Harding street, due to a sinkhole discovered during with the Blount Street / Person Street Corridor Project. The cause of the sinkhole is a 700-foot section of wastewater line that will be replaced during this closure. Work will begin at 7:00 a.m., Monday, Oct. 7, and is estimated to be completed on Monday, Oct. 21
The following is a detour around the work zone:
The northbound traffic detour is:
- Person Street;
- Take a right on New Bern Avenue;
- Take a left on Raleigh Boulevard;
- Take a left on Crabtree Boulevard;
- Take a left on Capital Boulevard;
- Take the Old Louisburg Road exit; and,
- To Atlantic Avenue or Wake Forest Road.
The southbound traffic detour is:
- Capital Boulevard;
- Take the Peace Street exit;
- Left on Peace Street: and
- Left onto Person Street.
