Scud Cloud, Not Tornado, Reported In Durham; Thunderstorms Likely
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Raleigh on Wednesday, saying thunderstorms and flooding are possible.

RALEIGH, NC — Thunderstorms and flooding could hit Raleigh on Wednesday and the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for central North Carolina. The agency said there will be showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening that could bring heavy rains and even cause some minor flooding.
Twitter user @SnydermanMD in Durham snapped a photo of what he thought was a tornado and posted it on the internet with the caption: "Wow. A tornado in Durham. It’s now gone I hope all are safe."
Someone from The Weather Channel later replied it was actually a scud cloud. Scud clouds are low, ragged and wind-torn cloud fragments.
