Section Of Raleigh's Crabtree Creek Trail To Close For Weeks
Public utilities workers are making "capacity improvements" to gravity interceptors, city officials said. There will be no detour.

RALEIGH, NC — Part of the 14-mile Crabtree Creek Trail in Raleigh's Anderson Heights neighborhood will be closed for about six weeks. The city's public utilities workers are making "capacity improvements" to gravity interceptors in the Crabtree Basin Service Area of the city's wastewater collection system, officials said in their announcement Wednesday morning.
That work, which began in March, requires sections of the popular trail to close periodically, as well as other trails that connect to it. Beginning on Monday, the trail will be closed between Rothgeb Drive and Anderson Drive, between mile markers 8 and 9. This closure will last into early October, weather permitting.
Because some roads are already closed in the area and connectivity is limited, a detour will not be available.
