Traffic Update: Full Closure Of Raleigh Intersection This Weekend

The Atlantic Ave and Hodges Street intersection will be closed completely to traffic starting at 7 p.m. July 19 and ending at 5 a.m July 22.

From the City of Raleigh: The intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Hodges Street will be closed completely to traffic starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 19 and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday, July 22. Future weekend closures are dependent on weather conditions and changes to the work environment. Current lane closures will remain in effect both before and after the weekend of July 19 – July 22 until October.

The following is a suggested detour around the work area:

  • Northbound traffic on Atlantic Avenue will make a left onto East Whitaker Mill Road, right onto Wake Forest Road, right onto East Six Forks Road, back to Atlantic Avenue; and,
  • Southbound traffic on Atlantic Avenue will make a right onto East Six Forks Road, left onto Wake Forest Road, left on East Whitaker Mill Road, and back onto Atlantic Avenue.

Motorists should be aware of additional Capital Improvement Projects in the area. Wake Forest Road is currently open to all motorists. Motorists approaching this area should expect traffic delays and are advised to avoid this area if possible.
