- The Wake County Sheriff's Department gave an update on the deputy who was shot at a Raleigh apartment complex. Sgt. Ronald Waller has undergone two surgeries and is out of the ICU. (abc11)
- The bill that would ban abortions in the case of a child with Down Syndrome has been approved by the North Carolina Senate and sent to Governor Roy Cooper's desk. It is unlikely that the governor will approve the bill, but Republican lawmakers are pushing for the bill regardless. (WECT News 6)
- Three finalists have been named to become the next chief of police in Raleigh. Darryl McSwain, Robert Lowe and Estella D. Patterson answered questions in a live, virtual forum. (WRAL, abc11)
- A Raleigh artist has been painting portraits of homeless residents for charity. So far, Beth Mastick, has sold 5 portraits for a total of $1,400 and the proceeds have been given to the Fifty Sandwiches nonprofit project. (Spectrum News 1)
- Retiree Tim Chlopowicz, founder of Pies for Paws, is spending his weeks transporting animals from rural shelters to Second Chance Pet Adoptions in Raleigh. He is raising funds for the shelter by getting local celebrities to smash a pie in his face for every $1,000 raised. (Spectrum News 1)
