Woman Hid Mother's Body To See 'Stages Of Death': Police
An investigation revealed that the woman kept the body in her home for "several months," police say.

ENFIELD, NC — A North Carolina woman is accused of keeping her 93-year-old mother's body in her home for several months because "she was curious and wanted to see the stages of death," according to police.
In a statement, police in Enfield, North Carolina, said on Tuesday that Donna Sue Hudgins, 69, is charged with felony concealment of death.
According to police, Hudgins went to a funeral home to make arrangements and said that her mother had passed away in the morning but she didn't know where EMS had taken the body. Police say the funeral home became concerned when it could not locate the body and contacted authorities.

Police responded to the home where both Hudgins and her mother lived. Officers entered the home to do a welfare check and found a badly decomposed body inside, police said in the statement.
An investigation revealed that the body was in the home for "several months" before Hudgins told family members that her mother had died, police said.
