Miss America: Bismarck Native Wins Crown
Cara Mund, 23, was crowned Sunday night after saying President Donald Trump shouldn't have pulled the U.S. out of the Paris climate accord.

BISMARCK, ND — A Bismarck, North Dakota native is the new Miss America and has taken the traditional dip into the New Jersey ocean after winning the title.

Mund was crowned Sunday night after saying in an onstage interview that Republican President Donald Trump shouldn't have pulled the United States out of the Paris climate accord, which aimed at curbing greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change.

Mund graduated from Brown University and plans to go to law school. She went to high school with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz and is the first contestant from North Dakota to win the crown.
