2 Ohio Companies Announce Layoffs In Early December

Two Ohio companies announced plans to layoff or furlough chunks of their workforce in early 2021.

AKRON, OH — Two major Ohio companies announced mass layoffs or furloughs this week.

According to filings with the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, Toledo Molding & Die and Amcor Flexibles North America both filed warning notices of impending layoffs or furloughs.

Amcor is closing its facility at 1972 Akron Peninsula Road in Akron. The company is laying off 109 of its workers at that location. The layoffs will begin Jan. 24, 2021 and continue through May 31, 2021. The company said it expects the layoffs to be permanent.

Toledo Molding & Die is also closing a facility. Their to-be-shuttered location is at 1085 Jefferson Eagleville Road. Layoffs at that facility will begin Feb. 1, 2021 and continue through April 30, 2021.
