The original German Oktoberfest tradition takes place every year in Munich. It’s a cultural extravaganza, and this year, its celebrating it’s 184th anniversary. Now that’s a lot of beer!
When it comes to celebrating the German tradition in the states, Oktoberfest events in Ohio are famous for paying tribute to the country’s heritage and rich culture, as well as serving up a ton of German food and beer.

2017 Oktoberfests Across Ohio
Cortland Oktoberfest, October 14th-15th

- The Cortland Oktoberfest is a two day family event that provides entertainment for all ages. An arts & crafts show, a beer tasting tent, and a 5K are just some of the activities planned for everyone to enjoy. Come eat some authentic German food and drink while traditional German music truly gets you in the spirit of Oktoberfest.

Oktoberfest in Athens, September 29th
- 132 West State Street in Athens
- Come to Athens in late September to take part in the annual Oktoberfest. A variety of food from local vendors, as well as Ohio brewed beers and ciders will be available for all. There will also be plenty of music to keep you entertained as you enjoy the festival.

Oktoberfest in Columbus, September 22nd-24th

- The Columbus Oktoberfest, taking place in late September, offers plenty of food, music, games, and, of course, beer. It truly encapsulates the spirit of the people of Munich and their American descendants in the Columbus area, as the organizers and vendors helped throw a little Ohio spin on things.
