4 Ohio Companies Announce Layoffs, Furloughs This Month
As February comes to a close, four Ohio companies have filed paperwork for major layoffs.
CANTON, OH — Four companies have filed paperwork for major layoffs this month, according to the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.
CJ Logistics is reducing its workforce in Toledo after a customer awarded its business to another firm, a company official wrote in a letter to the state.
TimkenSteel is indefinitely idling its melt shop at the Harrison Steel Plant in Canton. Gilbarco is also closing a facility, this one in Tipp City, and laying off all employees at that plant. Royal Appliance Manufacturing is closing its Glenwillow shop and relocating, laying off 65 people in the process.

Here are all the layoffs filed with the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services this month:
- CJ Logistics America (DSC Logistics) in Toledo — 93 employees
- TimkenSteel Corporation in Canton — 99 employees
- Gilbarco Inc. in Tipp City — 64 employees
- Royal Appliance Manufacturing in Glenwillow — 65 employees
