Mayfield and his wife, Emily Wilkinson, were driving home from dinner when they spotted something unusual luminescent falling from the sky.

"We stopped and looked at each other and asked if either of us saw it... Very bright ball of light going straight down out of the sky towards Lake Travis. Anybody else witness this?" Mayfield asked on social media on Wednesday night.

He said he was almost "100 percent sure" it was a UFO.

Mayfield isn't alone in seeing unusual craft or shapes of light jetting through the sky. So far this year, at least seven Ohioans have reported seeing a UFO, according to the National UFO Reporting Center.

Here's what one person said they saw in Marietta on Jan. 7, 2021:

"I began hearing a very loud roaring like an airplane but this was much louder and vibrated everything around. I then saw 4 large yellowish lights directly above 2 buildings 2 blocks over that was slowly approaching my direction they then stopped above the buildings, directly above the buildings probably 20 foot. They were as wide as the 2 city buildings. It hovered there for a few minutes swaying side to side then it backed up slowly started to turn and then disappeared into thin air....it was too big to have went behind the buildings and flew away it would have been seen no matter what direction it would have went."

So Mayfield isn't alone in seeing UFOs. Tell us in the comments if you've ever had an encounter with something unexplained!
