Coronavirus Deaths, Hospitalizations Up In Ohio
While Ohio's new COVID-19 cases are declining, other metrics are still surging.
COLUMBUS, OH — While Ohio's new COVID-19 cases are declining, other metrics continue to surge.
Over the past 24 hours, officials confirmed that 130 Ohioans have died from COVID-19. Nearly 550 Ohioans entered hospitals for COVID-19 treatment, the state health department announced Tuesday.
As the end-of-the-year holidays approach, Gov. Mike DeWine and state health leaders have urged Ohioans to refrain from parties and large family gatherings. The governor warned that a post-holiday COVID-19 spike could further tax Ohio's already strained hospitals.
