Coronavirus Hospitalizations Continue Surge In Ohio

In the past 24 hours, more than 450 Ohioans entered hospitals for COVID-19 treatment.

COLUMBUS, OH — More than 450 Ohioans were hospitalized with COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the state health department announced.

On Wednesday, the Ohio Department of Health announced there had been 464 COVID-19-related hospitalizations in the past day. The state is averaging 356 coronavirus hospitalizations per day.

Intensive care admissions related to COVID-19 were also up on Wednesday, with 49 Ohioans going into ICUs for treatment. That's up versus Ohio's rolling average of 37 COVID-19 ICU admissions per day.

New COVID-19 deaths and cases were also up versus their rolling average. More than 10,000 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed among Ohioans on Wednesday, while 84 Ohioans died from COVID-19 complications.
