Giant Eagle, CVS: Thanksgiving 2020 Grocery Store Hours In Ohio

OHIO — While the coming Thanksgiving Day feasts will likely be smaller this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, that doesn’t mean we’re less likely to forget the cranberry sauce, the gravy or the whipped topping for the pumpkin pie.

It’s a terrible to forget that crucial ingredient — but, luckily, there’s a list of grocery stores that will be open in Ohio for those emergency and last-minute shopping trips.

In contrast to previous years, retail giants Target and Walmart will not be open on Thanksgiving.

Both chains made the decision in response to the coronavirus pandemic. In a statement released on its website, Target said the company’s goal is to "make the holiday shopping experience simple, safe, and stress-free.”

Here are the hours for grocery stores that will be open on Thanksgiving Day, along with a list of those that won’t:

Cub Foods: Most stores will be open 24 hours that day.

CVS: Most stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Pharmacy hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day.

Giant Eagle: Check individual stores, most open until 3 p.m. or 4 p.m.

Market District: Closes at 4 p.m.

Fresh Thyme: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Kroger: Most stores are open 24 hours. Some stores will open from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Rite Aid: The majority of stores will be open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Call ahead to confirm hours.

Safeway: Stores will be open Thanksgiving. Call ahead to confirm hours.

ShopRite: Most stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Whole Foods: Hours vary by location. Many stores open at 7 a.m. and close as early as 2 p.m.
