Happy Mother's Day To Grace Porter

ACROSS OHIO, OH — Whether it's through their personalities, looks, hobbies, or a combination of everything, children become a reflection of the woman who raised them.

With Mother's Day 2021 right around the corner, we are celebrating that special bond by inviting Patch readers across the state to share their mother-daughter and mother-son photos. Happy Mother's Day!

Randi Kristine Muck submitted the following for mom Grace Porter:

Why she is special: I am one of 9 children. My mom raised us all while my dad struggled with health problems. She cared for my dad and many others in her life. She now has rheumatoid arthritis and pulmonary fibrosis. Two years ago she was given a terminal diagnosis. She still laughs every day and continues to encourage us and support us. It takes everything she has to just walk to a chair and but if you sit down to talk to her you will laugh and never notice how much pain she really is in. She is the heart of our family and I count each day with her as a a gift from God. May we all look at adversity and challenge and respond with the same kind of attitude.
