Kmart In Massillon Will Close As Part Of Latest Sears Downsizing
Retailer Sears announced that it will close 28 additional stores.

MASSILLON, OH — The Sears-owned Kmart store on Lincoln Way in Massillon is among the 28 additional stores that the retailer plans to close. The Sears Holding Corp. announced earlier this year that 180 Kmart across the nation would close.
The Massillon store is the only Ohio included in the current announcement for Kmart stores. The retailer has seen in-store sales decline as more customers turn to Amazon and other online retailers for their shopping.
The company reported that sales at stores open for at least a year fell 11.5 percent in the second quarter ended July 29.
All but one store will close by mid-November, Sears said.
