Ohio Confirms More Than 1,800 New Coronavirus Cases In 1 Day
Ohio has seen an uptick in new COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations over the past three weeks.
COLUMBUS, OH ā Ohio's surge of new COVID-19 cases continued Friday.
Over the past 24 hours, health officials have confirmed 1,840 new COVID-19 cases among Ohioans, a multi-month high. The Buckeye State has averaged 1,119 new COVID-19 cases per day over the past three weeks.
Gov. Mike DeWine has been urging Ohioans to continue following health and safety guidelines, like wearing a mask in public and keeping at least 6 feet of distance between yourself and another person when out and about.

DeWine said rural Ohio has been driving the surge in new cases and hospitalizations in Ohio. He said Ohioans need to continue taking COVID-19 seriously or risk school districts moving to remote-only education again.
