Ohio State, CWRU Among The Best Universities In The World

If you're looking to go to one of the top universities in the world, you've got three in Ohio to choose from – Ohio State, Case Western Reserve University and the University of Cincinnati. The three schools are among the Top 200 schools as ranked by U.S. News & World Report.

Ohio State is the highest ranked school in Ohio, at No. 46. CWRU came in at No. 146 and the University of Cincinnati at No. 200.

The magazine released a new set of rankings, designating the best global universities and the United States leads the way with some of the best higher education institutions in the world, claiming the top four spots on the list. The top two spots on the list are taken up by universities in Massachusetts. U.S. News ranked Harvard as the best global university and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology takes the number two spot.

The rankings evaluated 1,250 universities on the list across 74 countries and 221 American universities made the list. To come up with the rankings, U.S. News first created a pool of universities using various sources, including a global reputation survey. The rankings were then calculated using 13 indicators and weights that U.S. News chose to measure global research performance. (You can see the full methodology here.)
