Health Commissioner Anne Goon Resigns

MARIETTA, OH — On Friday February 19, 2021 the Marietta/Belpre City Board of Health announces the resignation of Health Commissioner Anne Goon effective immediately. The departure was a mutual agreement between her and the Board of Health. The Marietta/Belpre City Board of Health also removed Director of Nursing Vickie Sawyer during her probationary period of employment Friday.

Marietta/Belpre City Health Department Medical Director Dr. Michael Brockett will resume his prior role as Health Commissioner and will assume responsibility for the Marietta/Belpre City Health Department operations. Rebecca Aber will be assigned to the role of Co-Health Administrator along with Barb Bradley also continuing her role as Director of Environmental Services. Becky Jones will be the Interim Director of Nursing and all services, including Covid19 vaccines, will continue without interruption.
