Rite Aid Expanding Coronavirus Testing To People 13 And Older

The company is launching a new initiative to test younger Ohioans for COVID-19.

OHIO — Rite Aid is expanding its free COVID-19 testing program to anyone 13 and older, the company announced.

"We're proud to continue serving as an essential part of the pandemic response in the neighborhoods we serve," said Heyward Donigan, president and CEO, Rite Aid. "Continuing to make testing available - and now, to a broader age range - is an important next step in continuing to fight COVID-19."

Rite Aid previously only offered self-swab testing to people 18 and older.

The self-swab testing sites will be open to anyone regardless of whether or not they're experiencing symptoms of the virus. For anyone under 18 to get tested, a legal guardian must provide consent, show their government issued ID and accompany the children to the appointment.

Testing will continue to be conducted Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Testing will be temporarily unavailable on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Testing will resume Saturday.
