Santa Will Read Virtual Bedtime Stories Before Christmas In Ohio
"Bedtime Stories with Santa" will stream live on the city of Fairfield parks' Facebook page on Dec. 8.
FAIRFIELD, OH — The tradition of kids visiting Santa Claus during the holiday season is taking a different form in many areas of the country due to the coronavirus pandemic. But event planners in one Cincinnati suburb have found a way to keep their tradition going while adhering to social distancing guidelines.
In a normal year, "Bedtime Stories with Santa" would include children in Fairfield sitting with Santa and listening to him read children's stories. But in this pandemic year, kids across the country can take part as the event has gone virtual.
"Virtual Bedtime Stories with Santa" is a spin-off of the regular version, City of Fairfield Community Events Coordinator Brittany Theilman told the Journal-News.

“This year, however, Santa will be streaming live on the parks’ Facebook page,” Theilman said.
The virtual event will run from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Dec. 8 and stream live here.

Mrs. Clause will make the virtual appearance as well. Both she and Santa will also answer a few of the letters children have dropped off in the Fairfield Community Arts Center's North Pole Mailbox.
“We felt like we could turn this it into a virtual event fairly easily," Thielman said. "We didn’t want to go without providing community engagement opportunities for kids and their families."
