Snow Emergency Issued In Rochester Hills
Residents also are asked to check in on their neighbors during the winter storm.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – A snow emergency has been declared in the city until further notice. The declaration means parking on city streets has been banned, according to a statement from Mayor Bryan Barnett.
All residents are asked to remove their vehicles from all city streets to allow the plows to clear the snow safely and efficiently. Vehicles parked in the roadway could be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.
Up to 9 inches of snow is expected to fall on parts of southeast Michigan on Friday. Schools across the region have closed for the day and events canceled.

The city also asked that anyone who does not have to travel to stay off of the streets and roads during the storm and subsequent snow removal operations. "The public’s cooperation as we deal with this winter storm is greatly appreciated," the mayor said.
The city also asked residents to assist your fellow neighbors and check in on the elderly and disabled.
