These 22 Ohio Hospitals Are Among The Best In U.S.: Newsweek

The rankings for 2021 include over 300 hospitals in the United States.

CLEVELAND — Twenty-two Ohio hospitals were ranked among the best in America by Newsweek.

The magazine’s “World’s Best Hospitals” list for 2021 ranked the top hospitals around the world, including in the United States. It’s the third year Newsweek has published the list, for which it partnered with the data firm Statista.

Twelve Ohio hospitals ranked among the 200 best facilities in the U.S., while 10 other hospitals were included in the overall list, but did not make the top 200.

Here’s how Ohio hospitals were ranked on the list:

  • Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital (No. 41)
  • Miami Valley Hospital (No. 63)
  • Ohio State University — Wexner Medical Center (No. 75)
  • Christ Hospital (No. 76)
  • Cleveland Clinic Akron General (No. 112)
  • ProMedica Toledo Hospital (No. 123)
  • University of Cincinnati Medical Center (No. 134)
  • Cleveland Clinic - Hillcrest Hospital (No. 137)
  • Mercy St. Anne Hospital (No. 182)
  • Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health (No. 190)
  • Blanchard Valley Hospital (No. 203)
  • Fulton County Health Center (No. 214)

In its methodology, Newsweek explained that it looked at three data sources to compile the rankings: recommendations from medical experts, results from patient surveys and medical KPIs on hospitals.

Hospitals in the U.S. were also recognized for infection prevention if they performed above the national average based on data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
