Ohio Officer Shot, Killed Responding To Domestic Incident
The officer died in surgery after being shot by a suspect at a home in Girard, Ohio.

GIRARD, OH — An Ohio police officer was killed while responding to a domestic call Saturday night, according to media reports.
The officer, identified as 31-year-old Justin Leo, was shot by a suspect in a home in Girard, The Vindicator reported. Leo died in surgery at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, the paper reported.
Local news station WFMJ reported that the suspect was fatally shot by another officer and died inside the home.

Police were reportedly called to the home for a domestic situation involving a firearm. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation said it was still looking into the circumstances surrounding the situation.
"Justin Leo was a young man I knew most of his life. An absolute gentleman and someone who the city has been proud of since he had been here with us. Our communities, prayers and thoughts go out to Leo's family," Girard Mayor Jim Melfi said at a Sunday morning press conference, WFMJ reported.

Leo had been with the Girard Police Department for five years.
