3 Avon Lake Footballers Heading To Div. I Programs
National signing day will see Shoremen sign letters of intent to play collegiate sports.
AVON LAKE, OH — Four Avon Lake High School seniors will sign letters of intent to play collegiate sports on Wednesday. Three of the students will continue their football careers at Division I programs.
Wednesday is National Letter of Intent day for football and soccer players. The official signing ceremony will be held at 2:15 p.m. at the high school.

- Austin Baraona – Mercyhurst – Soccer
- Caleb Burr – Lafayette – Football
- Jake Marinelli – Valparaiso – Football
- Jake Sommers – Valparaiso – Football
The Avon Lake football team went 6-4 this past season. Marinelli was the team's tight end, Sommers and Burr were wide receivers.
The Avon Lake soccer team went 10-3-4 last season. Baraona was named second-team All-Lorain County in 2016.
