Avon Football Coach Joins Star Studded Conference Line-Up

Mike Elder, Avon High's head coach, will speak alongside Mike Singletary and Cris Carter at USA Football's 2018 National Conference.

AVON, OH — Mike Elder, Avon High School's head football coach, will join Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter and former linebacker Mike Singletary as speakers at the 2018 USA Football National Conference. Elder will speak about the fundamentals of youth football, according to a statement from the Avon Local Schools.

“We are pleased to have Mike Elder share his insight as a speaker at our National Conference,” USA Football CEO and Executive Director Scott Hallenbeck said. “Education and development is at the heart of this three-day event as leaders unite to advance football together. Coach Elder’s knowledge and experience will benefit the audience and the young athletes they serve.”

The National Conference will be held Jan. 26-Jan. 28 in Orlando, Florida. Besides NFL luminaries like Carter and Singletary, Elder will also share the stage with St. Ignatius' Coach Chuck Kyle. More than 1,000 football coaches and program administrators are expected to gather for the convention.

Elder led the Avon Eagles to an undefeated regular season during the 2017-2018 run. The team lost in the state semifinals to Archbishop Hoban.
