Avon Football Is Still Undefeated, Where Are They Ranked?

Plus, Avon Lake football makes an appearance in the rankings.

AVON, OH — The Avon High School football team is still undefeated. The team has pulled out some tight victories in recent weeks, including a 19-14 win against North Ridgeville Oct. 13. Now there are two games left on the season and two opportunities left for another team to spoil the Eagles perfect season.

OHSAA released its Week 8 computer rankings Tuesday. The Avon Eagles are 8-0 and remain atop the Division II, Region 6 rankings.

The Eagles will the end their regular season on the road against Berea-Midpark High School.

Amherst Steele is currently on 5-3 and coming off a dominant, 28-0 victory over North Olmsted. The team is ranked 8 in Division II, Region 6 and would benefit from knocking off the top team in the region.

Berea-Midpark High School is currently 3-5 on the season. The Comets dropped a tight game to Avon Lake, losing 28-24.

Speaking of Avon Lake, the Shoremen are now 6-2 on the season and have climbed into the OHSAA rankings again. Avon Lake is ranked 10 in Division II, Region 6.
