The Avon High School girls soccer team saw their 2012 season come to an end Wednesday night as the Eagles fell to Westlake, 2-1, in the opening game of OHSAA district play at Lee Burneson Middle School in Westlake.
Sixth-seeded Westlake took an early 1-0 lead, but a goal by the seventh-seeded Eagles' Emilie Wetzig with less than a minute left in the first half tied the game. Westlake scored in the second half and held Avon in check the rest of the way.
