Avon High Football Goes To State Semifinals
The Eagles demolished Olmsted Falls Friday to punch their ticket to state competition. Now they prep for a team from Akron.

AVON, OH — The Avon Eagles High School football team demolished Olmsted Falls on Friday to punch their ticket to state playoff competition. The team won 55-14 and will now move on to the state semifinals. To take another step toward the state championship game, the Eagles will need to defeat Archbishop Hoban.
The Eagles and Hoban will square off Friday, in Brunswick, at 7:30 p.m. The two teams will meet at Brunswick Auto Mart Stadium. Both teams were ranked as the best teams in their respective regions.
Avon is currently ranked as the number one Division II team in Ohio. Hoban is ranked fifth.

Hoban, a Catholic school in Akron, comes from region 5 in Division II. The Hoban Knights blew out Barberton, 42-13, for the right to challenge Avon on Black Friday.
The Knights are 12-1 on the season. The team's lone loss came against Division I powerhouse St. Ignatius. The Wildcast topped the Knights 17-3.

The Knights will be looking to spoil Avon's bid for a perfect, championship season. The Eagles have won 13 games in 2017.
For Avon residents that want to show their support for the Eagles heading into the final four playoff game, the team spirit store is selling gear both online and in-school. Fans can purchase gear by clicking here or by visiting the actual store between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Tickets for Friday's game will also be available in-store.
