Avon Lake 4th Of July Fireworks 2020 Canceled

Avon Lake traditional Fourth of July events may be canceled, but there are several other ways you can celebrate the holiday safely.

AVON LAKE, OH — July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events, including Avon Lake.

In place of the annual fireworks display, Avon Lake will host an "unparade" at Stop 65 from 10 a.m. until noon. Pre-registration for the event is required.

"Avon Lake families and friends are invited to decorate their cars in patriotic style, and drive to Stop 65, where they will enter from Electric Blvd. into the parking lot and circle through a marked route. Residents will remain in their vehicles, and distances between vehicles will be maintained," the city said in a statement.
