Avon Lake Students Thank Service Workers With Breakfast [Photos]

This year's annual Service Worker Breakfast at Westview Elementary looked a little different because of COVID-19.

AVON LAKE, OH — COVID-19 couldn't stop students at Westview Elementary from thanking the city's service workers.

The annual Service Worker Breakfast at Westview was kept alive in a socially-distanced drive-thru form on Nov. 24. The school's student council organized the 2020 version of the event, working with students and staff to keep the breakfast alive.

Students raised money for the breakfast through the annual Penny Wars competition, with classrooms duking it out to see who can raise the most funds.
