Avon Still Number 1 In OHSAA Football Rankings
The Eagles are undefeated and remain perched atop Division II, Region 6 rankings.

AVON, OH — Avon High School football could almost be excused for getting used to being number one in their region. The team is 6-0 and has been atop the OSHAA computer rankings for three weeks. The team retained its spot at the top after a dominant victory over nearby Westlake High School.
The Sept. 29 game between the Eagles and the Westlake Demons was brutal for the home team. Avon came into Westlake and won 55-21.
Avon returns to action Friday, at home, against the winless Lakewood Rangers. That game will start at 7 p.m. (To stay up to date on local stories, subscribe to the Patch Avon-Avon Lake newsletter. As news breaks and the story develops, you will be the first to receive updates from Patch.)
