Car Window Smashed In Avon Lake: Police Blotter
Police are investigating the smashing of a car window, a tractor trailer accident, and more.
AVON LAKE, OH — Avon Lake police are investigating a bevy of local incidents. Check out all of the recent updates from police in the blotter below.
Drug investigation, May 7 — An 18-year-old was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia while at the Aherns Banquet Center. He pleaded guilty to the charges in Avon Lake Municipal Court on May 20.
Traffic complaint, May 10 — A dump truck was stopped on Walker Road for driving with expired license plates. The driver did not have the appropriate commercial license to operate the vehicle, police said. The driver will be arraigned this week.

Traffic complaint, May 11 — A tractor trailer drove over island landscaping while trying to turn around in a cul-de-sac, police said. The trailer dislodged a decorative boulder which rolled into the roadway and damaged the trailer's brakes.
Ordinance violation, May 14 — A 46-year-old man was cited for throwing an empty alcohol bottle into a driveway. He will make his first appearance in Avon Lake Municipal Court this week.

Criminal damaging, May 15 — Someone broke the driver's side window of a car parked on Admirals Way, police said. Nothing was missing from the car and no other vehicles in the area were disturbed.
OVI, May 17 — Callers reported seeing an intoxicated man get into a car on Walker Road. Officers located the man and found an open container of alcohol in his car. The man was taken into custody, police said.
