Construction Starting On Rt. 83, Recreation Lane In Avon

AVON, OH — Two construction projects on roadways in Avon began this month.

The more significant of the two projects will happen on Route 83. The Ohio Department of Transportation is installing new signalization on the route. Work will be done between I-90 and Chester Road, the City of Avon said.

Drivers are being asked to approach the area with caution. The Rt. 83 project started in 2018 but was not completed. Crews will be finishing the signalization a few other items during this work phase.

Recreation Lane was closed at the Chester Road/State Route 611 entrance on April 1. Crews will be making road improvements for approximately two months. The project should be completed on May 10, weather permitting.

Detour signs will be posted in the area and should be useful for folks looking to visit the French Creek YMCA.
