COVID-19 In Avon Lake: 19 New Cases Last Week

The city saw a drop in new coronavirus cases among residents.

AVON LAKE, OH — Avon Lake saw a significant drop in new COVID-19 cases last week, Mayor Greg Zilka announced.

The city had 19 cases confirmed among residents last week. That's down from 50 the week prior. The drop in new cases occurred countywide. Lorain County had 278 cases confirmed overall last week, down from 820 the week prior.

Giant Eagle, Walgreens and Drug Mart are now offering the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible Ohioans. There are limited doses at each facility. To schedule an appointment at one of their pharmacies, contact the company directly.

Ohio is currently vaccinated people 70 and older. On Monday, the vaccine will be made available to Ohioans 65 and older.
