AVON LAKE, OH — There is no COVID-19 outbreak at Ford's Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, Lorain County Public Health Commissioner David Covell told Patch.

An anonymous post made on Patch and on NextDoor indicated there were dangerous conditions at the plant. The post further stated that COVID-19 cases were doubling daily at the plant.

Covell said that's "nonsense."

Four employees at the Ohio Assembly Plant have tested positive for COVID-19, Covell said. However, those employees contracted the virus from someplace outside of the factory, health officials determined via contact tracing.

Some employees who had contact with the infected workers have been asked to self-quarantine, Covell said. But no other cases of COVID-19 have been detected at the facility.
